Pakistan Cataract Project

Cataract is an optic disorder that gradually develops. At first, the disorder; which is described as clouded eyes, is perceived as a simple complaint, however, it may cause permanent blindness if it is not treated. With present potentials, the cataract can be treated within a 30-minute operation.

Although cataract in Australia is known to be a disorder related to aging, in Africa especially the children may develop a cataract after their eyes are hurt for some reason or they can simply be born with a cataract. In Sub-Saharan countries, cataract is the main reason for blindness. As these countries- Mali, Sudan, Niger, Ghana- are being underdeveloped and they don’t have enough ophthalmologists, they cannot overcome this national problem.

Over 100 million people need cataract operation around the world.

Only in Africa 160 thousand newborns are born with cataract every year.

We as AUHF are going to find solutions in the countries where cataract operations are the first priority either by supplying equipment that is absent or by sending doctors there.

You can reach out to people who will be drowned in darkness unless they are treated. Your donations will pull the people to the light who are being dragged to blindness.

We know that the world is filled with beauty and seeing eyes are one of the best blessings to mankind. You can support this project which we announced “ Help them See” and you can draw the curtains from their eyes and can help somebody smile with seeing eyes
